No cloud dependency

It keeps working when your internet doesn't

Most restaurant POS systems are cloud-based. When the connection drops, they slow down, fall back to a limited offline mode, or stop taking orders.

GoPOS runs on a local database on the terminal itself. Your menu, prices, open tables and transaction history live on the hardware in your restaurant. An outage doesn't stop you taking orders, printing tickets or closing tabs.

Card payments still need a connection — those run through your payment processor.

Embedded software

What GoPOS does day to day

  • Table mapping in PCProg
  • Unlimited products & departments
  • Split checks & seat tracking
  • Transferable, floating tabs
  • Employee time tracking
  • Transaction browser & reprint
Every terminal holds the check file, so there's no single point of failure — if one goes down, the others still have every open check.

Programming happens on the terminal itself, or from a PC using PCProg for larger menus and multi-terminal sites.

Kitchen

Getting orders to the kitchen

OPT-KD Kitchen Display

A touchscreen that replaces kitchen printers entirely — orders appear the moment they're rung in, organized and visible in real time. It integrates directly with GoPOS and runs entirely on your local network: no cloud, no monthly fees, no subscriptions.

VESA stand sold separately.

Optima OPT-150KP thermal kitchen printer with alert light

OPT-150KP Kitchen Printer

For kitchens that prefer paper. An 80mm thermal printer that mounts on a wall or sits on the pass, connects over Ethernet, and has a buzzer and light so tickets don't sit unnoticed during a rush.

Either way, GoPOS handles the details that matter in a real kitchen: programmable fire messages, second descriptors for kitchen tickets, and the ability to print kitchen orders in a different language from the front of house — Chinese or Spanish — so the ticket reads the way your kitchen staff actually work.

Payments

Keep the payment processor you already have

Optima provides the POS system, not the payment processing. Through Datacap, the APOS Series connects to major Canadian and US processors — PAX, Global, Moneris, TD Bank, PayFacto and thousands of ISOs — using a separate PIN pad. Switching to Optima doesn't mean renegotiating your merchant rates.

Pricing

What it costs

A one-time hardware purchase. No monthly software fee, no per-terminal licence, no subscription tier that unlocks features you already need. Updates are included for the life of the terminal.

Pricing depends on model and configuration, and is quoted through your local authorized Optima representative.

Questions

Common questions

How much does a restaurant POS system cost?

Optima terminals are bought once rather than rented monthly. Subscription systems charge per terminal per month, so the lifetime cost keeps climbing while a one-time purchase doesn't.

Do I need internet for the POS to work?

No. GoPOS stores your menu, prices and transactions locally, so ordering, printing and closing tabs continue during an outage. Card payments still need a connection, since those run through your payment processor.

Can I use my current payment processor?

In most cases, yes — the APOS Series connects through Datacap to PAX, Global, Moneris, TD Bank, PayFacto and thousands of ISOs.

How many terminals can I run?

Multiple terminals communicate over Wi-Fi, and PCProg pushes menu and pricing changes to all of them at once from a back-office PC.

Who installs and supports it?

Your local authorized Optima representative handles installation, setup and ongoing support.
